Biography

Peter Cooke, son of Joseph Cook, [1] was born in about 1823 in Hawkesbury, Gloucestershire. [2] He was christened on 14 September 1823 at the Lower Congregational Chapel, Wickwar, Glos.[3] He married Jane Limbrick on 12 November 1844 at St Mary Redcliffe, Bristol. [1]

According to Marjorie Pocock (Great Grandmother), he kept a stick on the kitchen Mantle place and if he beat one child, he would beat them all; but a look was usually sufficient to keep them in order.
