Biography

Have also seen his birth year as 1763, with his death "before 2/4/1813 enroute to Scotland." I think this should this be South Carolina.

Mom's research indicates that Isles was of Scotch-Irish origin and raised his family in Halifax Co. NC. One of the Coopers moved to Benton Co. TN in about 1800. LDS lists children: Temperance, Ira, Abner Edwards, Isles Edwards,ElizaAngeline, Frances, Elizabeth and Joseph John. Is Thomas Daniel Cooper a son?

Carroll Co., TN history says Isles & Nancy moved from Halifax to Chester and York District, SC in the winder of 1812. Isles died on the way.

He signed his name Iles on his will.[1]

Confirmed with YDNA by matches in the Cooper DNA Project, group J1-Lineage 11, Kit #133240.

Confirmed with DNA by auDNA/FamilyFinder match in the FamilyTreeDNA.com database. Test participant relationship range predicted at 2nd to 4th cousins, 53.47 cM shared. Anonymous and Kitty are 6th cousins. John Cooper-396 is the fifth great grandfather of Kitty and fifth great grandfather of Anonymous.
