Robert Allen Cooper - Enlisted July 1, 1863 at McLemoresville, TN, by Col. Greer for 3 years in Company B of 20th Tennessee Cavalry, CSA. Brown horse valued at 00. Present on roll for Feb/April 1864. Present on roll for May/June1864,"Appointed Chief Bugler May 1, 1864". Sergeant Robert A Cooper appears on several prisoner rolls: captured February 6, 1865 at Clinton, KY, he was received at Camp Morton February 26, 1865, and transferred to Point Lookout,MD, forexchange on March 15, 1865.
On roll (as Chief Bugler) of prisoners surrendered at Citronelle, AL, May 4, 1865. Residence Carroll Co. TN.
Born Carroll Co. TN. Married 1908, Ada Frances Newbill Gill, in Carroll Co. TN. Died 1910, Carroll Co. TN. Widow's pension file #10966.
