Arcangelo Corelli is Notable.

Arcangelo was born in 1653. He passed away in 1713.

Arcangelo Corelli was an Italian violinist and composer of the Baroque era. Corelli’s mother, Santa Raffini, having been left a widow five weeks before his birth, named him after his deceased father, Arcangelo. There are no documented details on his first years of study. It is thought that his first teacher was the curate of San Savino, a village on the outskirts of Fusignano. ^[1]

He is remembered for his sonatas and 12 Concerti Grossi published in 1714, and regarded as one of his best works, which helped establish the concerto grosso as a popular medium of composition. For his achievements, Corelli was received in aristocratic circles and he also presided over Cardinal Ottoboni's Monday night concerts called "academies". Through these concerts, Corelli was introduced to Handel.^[2][3]

Corelli met George Frideric Handel, who was in Rome between 1707 and 1708. In 1706, together with the Italian composer Bernardo Pasquini and Scarlatti, he was received into the Arcadia Academy and conducted a concert for the occasion.^[1]

Corelli never married and died in 1713 in Rome, Italy. He was buried at Pantheon Church in Rome, Città Metropolitana di Roma Capitale, Lazio, Italy.
