Research Notes
Ann's parents as indicated are probably correct, but not yet proved. Carole Garron's website indicates her name is Anna Maria.
In the marriage transcriptions of Queens and Lunenburg Cos. transcribed by Don Shankle and published on the Lunenburg Co. GenWeb page, she is named Ann Mary Corkum.
She appears in the 1861 census in the South Rawdon sub-district as a widow aged 60-70 with one single male aged 20-30 (obviously her son).[16]
She is among those enumerated on the 1871 census of South Rawdon sub-district, Hants County, in the mortality schedule. She died in March 1871 in Mount Uniacke, of "Senile Debility."[17] [Source: 1871 Nova Scotia Census Enumeration image online at Ancestry.com] Her son, Edward lives at dwelling 68, family 73, presumably in Ann's house, as she left it to him.
