Biography

Marie Cormier was born about 1698, very likely in Beaubassin. She was the daughter of Alexis Cormier and Marie LeBlanc. She was listed at age 2 in the 1700 census at Beaubassin.[1]


She married Michel Bourg, son of Michel Bourg and Elisabeth Melanson 24 October 1713 in Beaubassin. Witnesses were Alexis Cormier and Francois Doucet.[2][3][4] She passed away at age 44,12 Feb 1742 and was buried the next day at Beaubassin.[5][6]

Feb 3, 1742 Death Buried in the cemetery of this parish Marie Cormier wife of Michel Bourg, 44 years old, daughter of Alexis Coemier & Marie Le Blanc died February 2, 1742. Witnesses: Michel Bourg, Michel Pourier, Louis Poirier and Abraham Arssenaud.[7]

Michel and Marie had the following child & grandchildren
  1. Pierre Bourg dit Canique[8] [9] was born about 1722. He died 20 Jun 1790 and was buried 22 Jun 1790 in St-Charles-sur-Richelieu, Quebec.
    1. Pierre married (1) Anne Cormier dite Nanette[8] [9], daughter of Pierre Cormier dit Rossignol (Cormier-2) and (2a) Marie-Anne Cyr (Cyr-108), on 21 Feb 1743 in Beaubassin, Acadia.
    2. Pierre also married (2) Marguerite Vigneau[8], daughter of (4) Jacques Vigneau and Marguerite Arseneau, about 1750.
    3. Pierre also married (3) Anne Richard[8] about 1756. Location & Parents not identified either marriage.
