Lawrence Courtenay, the son of Richard Courtenay (1460-1497) of Lostwithiell, Cornwall, England, and 2nd wife Maud Michell (1450-unknown), [1]was born around 1498 in Saint Ethy, Winnow (Cornwall) England, and died about 1548, in Cornwall, England. Out of this marriage Lawrence was an only child.
Around 1527, Lawrence married Dorothy Sydenham [1] (1510-unknown) from Cornwall, daughter of Thomas Sydenham and wife Margaret (Harcourt) Sydenham. From this marriage there were eight (8) children.
