Biography

He was buried on 5 June 1638 at Powderham, Devon, England. [1]

He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Devon in 1625. He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Grampound in 1626. He succeeded to the title of 4th of Devon [E., 1553] de jure on 24 June 1630. He married, firstly, Mary Pole, daughter of Sir William Pole and Mary Periam, on 7 November 1606.

Following her death, he married secondly Elizabeth Seymour.
