Richard Courtenay was a member of the aristocracy in British Isles.

Biography

He was the son of Sir William Courtenay, 1st Bt. and Margaret Boevey.[1]He was married twice, firstly to Jane, daughter of Sir Thomas Southwell, 1st Bt., of Castle Mattress, co. Limerick sometime after the 26th of Mar. 1676. And by her he had one son.[1]He married secondly Catharine, daughter of Sir William Waller II of Strutton Ground, Westminster, and by her he had two daughters.[1]He was drowned with his only son on active service in the Mediterranean in January 1696.[1]
