Biography

Thomas Coventry, 2nd Baron Coventry of Aylesborough (c.1606-1661) was the son of Thomas Coventry, 1st Baron, and his 1st wife Sarah Sebright.

He was MP for Droitwich 1625 and 1626 and for Worcestershire 1628-1629. He succeeded his father as 2nd Baron Coventry of Aylesborough on 14 January 1639/40.

He married Mary Craven, daughter of Sir William Craven and Elizabeth Whitmore, on 2 April 1627 at St. Andrew Undershaft, London.

Children of Thomas Coventry and Mary Craven:

  1. George Coventry, 3rd Baron Coventry of Aylesborough, b. c 1628, d. 15 Dec 1680
  2. Thomas Coventry, 5th Baron, 1st Earl of Coventry, b. c 1629, d. 15 Jul 1699

He died on 27 October 1661 at Lincoln's Inn Fields, London, from gangrene in the toes.
