Biography

The 1850 census shows David H. Covey, 19, in the household of Susannah Covey, 57.

According to a marriage record in Ray County, Missouri, David H. Covey and Mary Parrot were married on 8 September 1850.

The 1860 census shows D. H. Covey, 30, and Mary Covey, 33, living in Richmond township, Ray County, Missouri. Their children included Sarah, 7, Charles, 5, Frances, 2, and Felix, two months old.

According to a marriage record in Ray County, Missouri, David H. Covey and Elizabeth Wilson were married on 24 June 1866.

The 1880 census shows David H. Covey, 49, farmer, and Caroline Covey, 47, living in Richmond township. Children in the household included Felix B., Nannie, Riley and Luora.

The 1900 census shows David. H. Covey, 69, born in August 1830 in Virginia. He was living in Richmond township (excluding the city of Richmond) with his daughter Nannie M. Covey, 33.

The 1910 census shows David H. Covey, 79, widowed, as head of household in Richmond, Ray County, Missouri. Four relatives were also in the household.

A Missouri death certificate shows that David H. Covey died on 7 January 1911 in Ray County, Missouri. According to the certificate, he was born in Virginia on 1 August 1831, his mother's name was "Susana Godby" and he was buried in Todd's Chapel burial ground in Ray County.
