Biography

Elizabeth Cowden was born 1770 in TN and died before 1835. She was married to David McCord (his second wife). Note, David's first wife, Mary Allison died in 1794.

Her husband, David died in 1819 and Elizabeth was listed in his will along with all his children.^[1]

In the 1820 U.S. Census, she was enumerated as head of household living in Franklin, Williamson, Tennessee. She was listed as being the only female in the household 45 and older with 4 males - 1 under 10, 2 between 10 and 16, 1 between 16 and 18 and 1 between 18 and 26^[2]

In the 1830 U.S. Census, Elizabeth was enumerated as head of household, living in Williamson, Tennessee. She was listed as being the only female in the household between 50 and 60 years of age with 4 males - 1 between 15 and 20 and 3 between 20 and 30. ^[3]

Elizabeth died before 1835 when her will was probated.^[4]
