ARCHIBALD P. COX.
Dubbo sustained another great loss this morning when Archibald P. Cox, manager of the Australian Bank of Commerce, passed away shortly after 10 o'clock. The deceased gentleman was 55 years of age and joined the service of the bank in 1886. He was manager of the Dubbo branch for about 11 years,coming here as successor to Mr. G. A. Ball. Prior to that he was manager of the Hillston branch of the bank and before that had been in the service of the bank at Condobolin, Orange and Hay. The late Mr. Cox was possessed of a kindly and lovable disposition and was highly respected by all with whom he came in contact. During the war he took an active part in all war work and was president of the Soldiers' Club for some time. One brother of deceased's was killed on active service, and Brigadier General C. F. Cox is also a brother. The deceased gentleman was a member of the Masonic order and was also a prominent bowler. He was treasurer of the Presbyterian Church and was an energetic worker in all matters that he took up. He is survived by a widow and one daughter, Ruth. Mr. F. W. Gavel, Stock Inspector, is a brother- in-law. Mr. Cox's father is still alive and resides at Carlingford, near Parramatta. The funeral will leave his late residence to-morrow forenoon at 11 o'clock for the Presbyterian portion of the Dubbo cemetery.
