Rev. Ebenezer Cox was born on March 19, 1762 in Cape Elizabeth, Cumberland, Province (now State) of Maine. in 1787, Ebenezer married Margaret Fling (b. 4 Sep 1766 in Bristol, Maine; d. 25 Feb 1844 in Hope, Maine).

Rev. Ebenezer and wife Margaret lived in Hope where he was a minister. They had at least one child, Hannah Cox, who married Isaac Dunton on or about 6 Nov 1811. She was born on 19 Mar 1789 and died on 4 Jun 1852 in Hope.
