Biography

Jonathan Coy was born May 6, 1687, the son of Matthew and Ann (Brewster) Coy of Norwich and Preston, Connecticut[1] [2]

Before 1716, he married Abigail, whose surname and parents are not known[1]. Their children included:

  1. Jonathan, baptized Feb 26, 1721[1]
  2. Samuel, baptized Feb 26, 1721[1]
  3. Abiah, baptized Feb 26, 1721, who married Ruth Wedge and Judith Luce, and died in Maine in 1783[1]
  4. Mary, baptized October 22, 1721[1]
  5. Moses, baptized October 13, 1723[1]
  6. John, baptized July 18, 1725, who married Sarah Luce, Miriam Murdock and Tenny Unknown[1]
  7. Matthew, baptized 7 April 1727, who married Amy Church[1]
  8. Nathaniel, baptized 9 March 1728[1]
  9. Abigail, baptized 8 November, 1731[1]
  10. Joseph, baptized August 12, 1735[1]

Jonathan died in Preston, Connecticut February 10, 1766[1]

In our records we have the he married Abigail (no last name).He died in 1766. He was baptized in Preston Ct. in 1720 as an adult. One of his sons was Samuel Coy 1717-? who married Elizabeth Jacobs 1719-?. One of their sons was Joseph Coy 1741-1823 who married Jerusha Sawyer 1737-1826. One of their daughters was Susannah 1782-1855 who married William Chatfield. Want more info e-mail me.
