Conflicts

Putting this profile on hold -appears we have 2 James Crawfords married to Kesiah and both listed with the same father but different birth years and locations.

Mary Duke and John Crawford were also supposed to be born in 1701, which makes James birth date of 1715 problematic. Or more likely, John and Mary Duke are not actually the parents of James.

Biography

James was likely born about 1715. In 1739, when he would have been about 24 years old, he married Keziah Saunders at the Prince Frederick Winyah church in Craven County, Colonial South Carolina.[1]

Of the settlers at Sandy Bluff, Crawfords along with Sanders and Gibsons accumulated the largest properties. John Crawford, the first of that name had three sons: James, John and Hardy. James the eldest amassed a large forturne for the that day. Thus we have the origin of the once extensive family of Crawfords--to whom they married and what children, they had, we are pretty much in the dark. Paraphrased.[2]

Crawford-7281 and Crawford-1214 are not ready to be merged because: As pointed out, the Crawford-1214 is problematic. This needs to be worked out before a merge can be made.

Not the son of John Crawford who lived in Hanover Virginia, not Scotland.

Born in 1715, he is too young to be son of John Crawford who was born in 1701, son of David and Elizabeth. Also note that this John Crawford lived in Hanover VA, not South Carolina or Virginia

Note regarding conflict: if we can find a living descendant within the Y-DNA lineage who is willing to take a test, should be able to confirm whether parentage belongs within the I2 haplogroup. If not, we would still have to locate where the Non-Parental Event is likely to take place, but could rule out documented Y-DNA descendants of Crawford-335 as likely parents.
