Biography

Pearl was born August 6, 1896 in Spearfish, Lawrence County, South Dakota, United States. She was the daughter of Judge Robert Fulton and Bessie Amelia (Smedley) Crawford. She passed away in June, 1987 in Spearfish, Lawrence County, South Dakota, United States.

Burial in June 1987 was at the Mount Moriah Cemetery in Sundance, Crook County, Wyoming.

Pearl Finch, longtime Crook County resident, died Monday afternoon at Lookout Memorial Hospital in Spearfish. She was 90.

She grew up in Spearfish where she attended Spearfish Normal School.

On March 27, 1917, she was married to Herbert Finch at Spearfish. The couple lived in Lead, S.D. before moving to Beulah where they lived on the Finch ranch. In 1927, they moved east of Sundance where they farmed on Williams Divide and Black's Flat. In 1936, the Finches moved southwest of Sundance where they farmed and raised Arabian horses on the Jackpot Ranch.

Mrs. Finch had resided in the Crook County Nursing Home since December 1986.

A charter member of the Inyan Kara Homemakers Club, she was a past president of the Crook County Homemakers. She was also active in Farm Bureau.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Lloyd (Patricia) Rolf, Sundance; two sons - Bill, Ontario, Oregon, and Kenneth, Kingman, Ariz.; 17 grand-children and many great grand-children.

Preceding her in death were her husband in 1968, two sons - Robert and Rex, two sisters and five brothers.
