Biography

Elvira was born in about 1860 in Ware, Georgia, USA. She was the daughter of Gideon Crawford and Mary Tomlin.[1]

On 9 June 1870 Elvira (age about 10) was living in Baker, Florida, USA. Note: Gidean Crofford. Frances, 44. Martha, 12. Every, 10, female. John, 8. Cressy, 6, Daniel W, 4. All born in Georgia.[2]

On 25 June 1880 Elvira (age about 20) was living in Charlton, Georgia, USA. Note: Gideon Crawford & Frances. Mathew, 23, farm laborer, attended school, cannot write. Elvira, 21, attended school, cannot write. John, 19, farm laborer, attended school, cannot write. Lucretia, 17, attended school, cannot write. Daniel B, 14, attended school, cannot write. James Howard, 10, hired, illiterate.[3]

She may have married Sellers "Lee" Crawford, perhaps on 16 February 1893.[4]

Lee died between 1920-1930.

In the 1930 census Elvira (age 71) was the widowed head of household in Moniac, Charlton, Georgia, United States.[5]
