Biography

U.S. Southern Colonies Project logo
Elizabeth (Crawford) Meriwether was a Virginia colonist.

Elizabeth was born 12 May 1666 in New Kent, Colony of Virginia. She was the daughter of David Crawford and Jane Crawford.

Birth

The Comstock book gives a year of birth as 1656. An alternate birth year for Elizabeth is seen as 1669 - this actually seems more reasonable.
Named as 'my loving wife Elizabeth Meriwether' in Will of Nicholas. He gave her 100£ sterling money as well as 14 slaves, livestock, household goods to be used for the remainder of her life. Her property to be equally divided among the 7 grandson & 3 granddaughters that bore the Meriwether surname after her death.

Death

Date: 1762
Place: Fredricksville, Louisa, Virginia, USA[citation needed]
Place: "Cloverfields" Goochland, Albermarle, [citation needed]
Age: 89-90

Will

Elizabeth's will dated 2 Mar 1753, left her home place in Louisa Co., VA, 2000 acres, to grandson Robert Lewis Jr. The remaining property was divided between her son-in-law Robert Lewis, daughter Ann Cosby & grandson Richard, son of William Meriwether. Louisa County Will Book 1.
Will Probated: 11 May 1762, Date Will was proved in Louisa County, but may have died in Albemarle County.[1]

She was a twin.

Name: Elizabeth /Crawford/ - 1 - Twin?

The suffix - 1 - Twin? is non-traditional and may be too long for the WikiTree suffix.

Crawford-26597 and Crawford-356 appear to represent the same person because: Clear duplicate. Duplicate profile found while processing merge for Father's profile.

As of 31 Jul 2020 all proposed merges have been completed.

There are 11 Suggestions for her which I think may all be solved by fixing DD Error 103: Death (1655) before Birth (1666). There is a death date of 1762 in her biography. As a Data Doctor, I am still reluctant to change dates when there is an active PM.

I added some research notes and sent a private message to the PM's.
