↑ Document images shared on several genealogical websites include a written statement signed by descendant Imogene Basham Belew that details the custodianship of the original family Bible belonging to Robert and Johanna Crockett—containing handwritten records of family births, marriages, and deaths—as it passed through several generations of descendants before arriving in her possession. In 1989 Belew transcribed the family records from that original Bible and contributed her transcription to a collection of records published by the Etowah, Alabama, chapter of the DAR. In her statement, Belew also noted that the original Bible was destroyed along with 13 others in her possession 10 April 1991 when her home burned to the ground after a lightning strike. In her transcription of the family records written in the original Bible, Belew gave Robert’s full name as Robert Caldwell Crockett.
