Biography

Ernest Alfred Crofton was born in Ireland in 1878 as the child of Francis George Crofton and Emily Augusta Caulfeild. He came to Canada with his brothers in 1897 and settled on Saltspring Island, BC. He is listed as a farmer in the 1911 and 1921 censuses. He married firstly Mary Susanna Bullock in 1901. Following her death he remarried to Grace Elizabeth Ward (nee Elkington) in 1949. He died in England in 1961. He had no children.
