He was married and left South Carolina with a son, Hosea C. (born cir l857). They were living with his parents in Cherokee County, Alabama in l860 (p.35). Most likely the "Nelson Cromer" who was one of the 1859 Subscribers for a building fund for the Cedar Bluff Baptist Church. Sister "J. N. Cromer" was listed as a member, April 1867 (most likely his wife).[1]
