DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Thomas by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Thomas:
I believe many of Thomas’ children who are currently listed as Lizzie Allen’s children, are actually Flora Alexander’s children. Lizzie was born in 1869, but many of the children were born in the 1870s. She would have been too young for most of them, but Flora was still alive until 1878. She could have borne most of them.
I also believe that Thomas had another wife between Flora’s death in 1878 and his marriage to Lizzie in 1908. His three youngest children were born during that time, while Lizzie was 10-17–still very young to give birth to Green. It’s possible for the other 2, but I found a 1900 Census that seems to be for this family. It shows Thomas and his three youngest children, and a woman named Sylvia listed as his wife at that time. Sylvia would have been 17 when Green was born, and was clearly still alive when the other two were born.
That Census is right here, for further research:
