John Criderman lived on the West end of Lot #31, Con 5 East Gwillimbury for 16 or so years before his death in 1848. He had made large improvements on his land that supported a large family. Wife has since remarried to a Martin Paul Matur and moved away leaving some of her children behind. Two of these children were turned out by their brother and they showed up at the home of David Eves. He asked the local JP what to do with them. His description of the children was “one was foolish and doesn’t know how to take care of herself.”
