Mary (Cummings) Cheesbrough was born in 1921 in Hanna, Carbon County, WY.
"The wedding of Miss Mary Elizabeth Cummings and Lawrence Cheesbrough was solemnized at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church on Wednesday evening, June 12th, at 7 o’clock. The bride wore multi-colored chiffon and white accessories, and the bridesmaid, Ellen Cummings, her sister, wore a navy blue suit and white accessories, both carrying red roses. The groom’s best man was his brother, Allan Cheesbrough. The service was read by Father Harry Kellam. A reception for relatives was held at the bride’s home following, and Nupital Mass was celebrated at the church on Thursday morning. The bride is the eldest daughter of Mr. And Mrs. Robert Cummings, of Hanna. The groom is the son of Mr. And Mrs. Joe Cheesbrough, of Medicine Bow. They will live in Hanna, where the groom is employed. (UPCCEM, July 1940):[1]

She grew up in Hanna, and graduated from Hanna High School. On June 12, 1940, she married Lawrence Kent Cheesbrough. The couple make their home in Hanna, where she was a homemaker and he was a fire boss for the Union Pacific Coal Company. To them were born three children: Dorothy Ellen, Lawrence Michael, and David Roy. She was an active member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Hanna and the Hanna Chapter of Eastern Star.
In 1954, the family moved to Laramie, where she worked as a clerk for Laramie Auto Parts, in the Housing Office at the University of Wyoming, and in the school lunch program for the Albany County School District. She was a member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Cathedral, where she was active in the Talbott Guild, and was a diligent church worker. She was a member of Alpha Chapter Number One, Order of the Eastern Star and served the Grand Chapter of Wyoming as Grand Chaplain in 1975-6. For many years, she belonged to the Hanna Belles, a group of women who had previously lived in Hanna. She was a volunteer at Ivinson Museum and enjoyed conducting tours there.
Her life revolved around her family and she was devoted to her children and grandchildren. The Cheesbrough home and backyard at 809 University Ave. was the scene for many gatherings of family and friends. She enjoyed taking care of the flowers in her yard. She baked almost daily and shared her baking and cooking talents throughout the community. It was not unusual for neighbors, church, and friends to receive a plate of her delicious goodies. She enjoyed picnicking and camping with family at favorite camping sites in the Elk Mountain and Snowy Range areas.
She is survived by a daughter, Dorothy Ellen Dietz and husband Arnold of Sterling; sons, Lawrence "Mick" Michael, and wife Lynn, and David Roy and wife Deborah, all of Laramie; a brother, Robert Cummings of Laramie; sisters, Ellen Eskeli, of Cheyenne, and Irene Bogucki and husband Robert of Belton, Mo.; grandchildren, Courtney Gashler of Laramie; Evie Hagist and husband Peter of Midland, Tex., Casey Cheesbrough of Spearfish, S.D., Kyle Cheesbrough, Candace Cheesbrough, Sean Cheesbrough, all of Laramie, Denise Morris of Philadelphia, Pa., Brent Jones and Rebecca Jones, both of Laramie, Martin Dietz of Grand Junction, Colo., Ken Dietz of Pueblo, Colo., and Lonnie Dietz of Kingman, Ariz.; eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence, and her parents. The funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday at St. Matthew's Cathedral, Laramie, with the Very Rev. Marilyn Engstrom officiating. Interment will follow in Green Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 A.M. to 6 P.M. Tuesday at the Montgomery-Stryker Funeral Home, Laramie. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Dietz, Martin Dietz, Courtney Gashler, Casey Cheesbrough, Kyle Cheesbrough, Sean Cheesbrough and Robert Nielson.
