Biography

Mary was born in 1892. She passed away in 1959.

About Cunningham, *Mary Emma Family legend says she was supposed to be an Indian named "Morning Swan". She and her siblings were taken away and put into a Methodist orphanage in Ft. Worth. Every orphan was given the name Cunningham (the name of the man who ran the orphanage)They were all given English names and adopted out to white families.

She is listed as Emma Cunningham, "orphan" in the Masonic Home, in the 1910 census for Forest Hill, Tarrant Co., TX, age 16, born TX, both parents born U.S.
