A question has been raised about a woman named Susannah Custer who appears to be buried under the name Runyon in 1823. Looks like an interesting puzzle.
There are sources available that need to be added to this profile. In the process it would be good to investigate how, why and whether the Runyon connection is plausible or coincidental.
One of the sources available is the 1986 book of the descendants of Nicholas and Catherine Cain. Unfortunately the book only has three references for Susannah specifically, but many more mentions of other Custer family members. The book mentions the Runyan/Runyon/Runion family and one William.
The simple facts that Arnold's mother was named Susannah, Arnold had a sister named Susannah, plus his mother undoubtedly had many granddaughters named Susannah, means that there were many women with this name. One tree shows Arnold's sisters, Susannah and Catherine, each married Runyan's.

This looks like a good project. Any takers?
