David married Sarah Robinson, daughter of William Robinson, on 27 Sep 1779 in Louisa Co., VA. They had the following children:

Mourning Dalton was born in 1785 in Rutherford Co., NC. She died about 1880 in Brookstown Cemetery, Orleans Twp., Orange Co., IN. Mourning married Menan Langford in BET. 1809 - 1810. Menan was born in 1782 in VA. He died after 1840 in Brookstown Cemetery, Orleans Twp., Orange Co., IN.
David Dalton was born in 1788 in Rutherford Co., NC.
Zachariah S Dalton was born in 1789.
Elisha Dalton was born in 1793 in Rutherford Co., NC.
John T Dalton was born in 1795. He died on 5 Oct 1862.
Sarah "Sally" Dalton was born in 1799. She died about 1883.
William Robinson Dalton was born in 1800.
Sarah Dalton was born in 1804.
Mary "Polly" Dalton was born in 1808 in Rutherford Co., NC.
