Biography
Thomas was baptised at Crosby-on-Eden, Cumberland on 22 September 1805, son of Thomas Dalton and Margaret Holliday.[1]
Thomas was ordained deacon in 1832 and priest the following year.[2][3]
His marriage to Mary Buckham was registered at Whitehaven, Cumberland in the fourth quarter of 1837.[4]
In 1839 he enrolled at St John's College, Cambridge as a "ten-year man". He was awarded a Bachelor of Divinity degree in 1850.[3]
1832[2]-1849: curate of Christ Church, Whitehaven, Cumberland.[3]
1840-1889: vicar of Holy Trinity, Whitehaven, Cumberland.[3]
1862-1889: canon of Carlisle Cathedral.[3]

- 1871: Whitehaven, Cumberland, age 65, born Cumberland, vicar of Holy Trinity. Wife Mary, 56, born Cumberland. Children, all born in Cumberland: Edward S, 18; Arthur O, 13.[6]
- 1881: Whitehaven, Cumberland, age 75, vicar of Holy Trinity. Wife Lucy, 47, born Bromley, Middlesex.[7]
Thomas died at Whitehaven on 9 March 1889.[3] His death was registered at Whitehaven, Cumberland in the first quarter of 1889.[8]
