In 1871, William, a fisherman, and his wife, Elizabeth Dauphinee[4], were living in Black Point, Halifax West, N.S. with three sons: Isaiah, Richmond, and Noah[5]
In 1891, William was a widower and living with his sons Richmond and Isaiah and Isaiah's family in Hubbard's Cove, Halifax N.S.[6]
