At that time, others in the household included his wife Catherine, their daughter Lucretia with her children Isaac and Sophia, and their younger children, Mary, Abigail and Bennett. [3]
He died 20 Mar 1877 and is buried in Northwest, Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia, Canada. [4]

Isaac's tombstone spells the last name as Dares. [5] He's buried at the Northwest Baptist Community Cemetery in Northwest Lunenburg County.Nova Scotia. [5]His headstone reads "Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord."[5]
