Notes

NYG&BS Vol 5, p. 98 Notes RELATIONSHIP: Although we have not located the primary document that shows this Solomon Davids was the father of our Salomon Davids, Jr there is a christening entry in the Minisink Valley Reformed Dutch Church records: "1738, May 31, Beletje born to Salomon Davids, Jun. and Lea Dekker, witnesses Solomon Davids and Beletje Quik" NYG&BS Vol 5, p. 98 It is a fairly good assumption that these two Salomon Davids were father and son.

Davids-269 and Davids-66 appear to represent the same person because: Clear duplicate. Same spouse. Same child. Same birth + death dates. We just need to include the alternate name spellings.

Dest. should be Davids-66.

Salomon Davids jr gives every indication that the father was Salomon Davids...Salomon Davids (father) and Beletje Quik were later witnesses at the baptism of their granddaughter Beletje Davids, 31 Mar 1738, daughter of Salomon Davids, Jr. and Lea Dekker. Source: NY G&B 42-1918. Baptism was recorded at the Minisink Reformed Dutch Church of Machackemeck, Orange County, New York.

KRDC Baptism Record: 1709 Sep 11; , Beelitje Kwik; Salomon (ill); Hendrik Dekker, Claartje de Hooges; this baptism of Salomon Davids junior suggest that Salomon Davids sr. and Beletje Kwik were not married in the eyes of the church. or perhaps in his eyes as Salomon later married married Engel Davids.

Quite a mix up.

Davids-66 and Davis-952 appear to be the same person. How shall we merge them? They spell their names differently.
