It may be possible to confirm family relationships with William by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with William:

Davis-89481 and Davis-58038 appear to represent the same person because: Hint 585: FindAGrave - Multiple profiles link to same grave ID

Before I put this as an unmerged match for further research, I thought I would let you take a look. One of FAG links needs to be removed from the incorrect profile, and profile corrected, or if he married twice we need to merge them. Let me know if I can help. Thank you.

Davis-89481 and Davis-58038 do not represent the same person because: The are not the same person. They have different wives and children. Davis-58038 has incorrectly adopted birth and death dates of Davis-89481 proven by Find a grave link and dated will. Salt Lake City, Utah Microfilm #1315752 Putnam Co.,IN Probate Records Vol. E-F page 400, 1854 Civil Suit states William Davis wrote his will in 1833. Davis-89481 and Davis-58038 do not represent the same person because: I do not believe they are the same person. Davis-61499 and Davis-58038 appear to represent the same person because: same name, exact same spouse on both profiles, same birth year, son Simon on both profiles

I have found the problem and will be detaching wife Mary Nancy Cully-17 from William Davis-58038 because she actually married Edward Davis-11904. This will remove one of the Jacobs who is son of Edward.
posted by N Gauthier
I believe Mary Nancy Cully should be removed as the spouse of this William Davis. She was born 25 years before he was and there is no proof that she was his wife.

He has 2 sons named Jacob ... can you please try and figure out which one is wrong ?
Davis-2256
Davies-3707

They have different mothers and different wives.

Thanks

Please correct William's last name at birth to be Davis (not Davies). That was probably a typo or a transcription error. His father and siblings and correct children all have the last name Davis.
Davies-7122 and Davies-2408 appear to represent the same person because: The birth and death dates are the same and have the same son.

Is there any evidence for this William being the husband of Susanna Radcliffe of Frederick, Maryland, given that he seems also to be the husband of Ann Marshall of North Carolina at the same time? It seems more likely that Susanna and her son Joseph were attached to this William accidentally, or that two William Davises have been mixed up.

Davis-22527 and Davis-2354 appear to represent the same person because: They are either the same person or the product of a bad merge.

Please add more information about the wives of William Davis. The dates of marriages seem inconsistent. Thanks.
