Marriage

SMITH— DAVIS.[7]

At the residence of the bride's parents, "River View," Numba, on June 11th, Mr. Alick Smith, of Balmain, was married to Louie, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Davis. The Rev. J. Muir performed the ceremony. The bride wore a very pretty draped gown of white organdi muslin, trimmed with malines lace and insertion, silver tissue and pearls. She carried a large shower bouquet of white carnations and asparagus fern. The bridesmaids were Miss Grace Davis, sister of the bride, and Miss. Mary Smith, sister of the bridegroom. The former, wore white silk, and heliotrope hat ; and the latter white striped silk crystalline, white hat trimmed with pink roses and silk. They carried bouquets of pale pink carnations and asparagus fern, and wore heavy chased gold bamboo bangles, gifts of the bridegroom.

A large marquee was erected on the lawn, and after Mr. and Mrs. Smith had received the congratulations of their many friends the guests entered the marquee where the wedding breakfast was served. The bride's travelling dress was vieux rose Shantung silk, the bodice and skirt being braided, and soutached with silk of the same color. Her hat was tricorne burnt straw, large vieux rose silk roses, white ostrich feathers. She also wore a set of English fox furs, which, with a diamond ring, were the gifts of the bridegroom. The happy couple left Numba by motor car, and afterwards by train, amid showers of confetti.
