Charles Edward Davison was born about 1824 and was christened on the 2nd May 1824 in Alnwick, Northumberland, England, United Kingdom. [1] His parents were George Davison and Mary Anderson.
In early 1840, Charles and his brother William journeyed from Northumberland to start a new life in India. [2]They were going to work for their uncle, Joseph Anderson, who was a merchant. Eventually they all settled in Simla and all three became members of the Himalayan Brotherhood Masonic Lodge.[3]

Charles Edward Davison married a wealthy heiress, Sarah Seton Chisholm 3 August 1848 in Simla, Bengal, India. [4] While living in India, they had three children:
Charles and Sarah returned to England in January of 1854. [2] In 1861, they were living in Havant, Hampshire, England. [5]

Second Marriage 2m
After Sarah Seton Davison (nee Chisholm) passed away in 1866, Charles married for a second time, 2m Margaret Caisley, his second cousin (their mothers were first cousins), in 1868 in Greenwich, London, England, United Kingdom. [6]
Charles and Margaret were living with their two daughters in London in 1891, and Charles was now working as a commission agent. [9]
Charles passed away in 1893 at the age of 70. His death was registered in Fulham, London, England, United Kingdom. [10]
Research Notes
Charles and Margaret's first daughter, Letitia Charlotte, was born out of wedlock. Her birth was registered with the surname of Dawson, [11] but she was later christened with the surname of Davison. [12]
