Biography: William Day of St John's Church, Piscataway Parish

1740 Birth and Parents

William Day was born about 1740.

He was most likely son of Leonard Day, born 1706.

However, he was possibly the son of Matthew Day, Sr, and brother of Matthew Day, Jr, as an inference from their common Piscataway involvement and lack of record of Matthew's brothers & sisters).

Marriage

William Day's wife's name was Mary.

1764 Scalp

William may be the same William found in this item: Hugh Stephenson, Ezekiel Johnson and William Day, Frederick County. Certificate for one Indian scalp taken on Braddock's Road Aug 28, 1764. Bounty assigned to Thomas Cresap and by him to Thomas Richardson. [1]

Death

William Day died sometime after the birth of his last child in 1768.

Other sources say he died in 1829.

Day-14096 and Day-8442 appear to represent the same person because: Clear duplicates. Same father, same birth year. Maryland is the birth place; there was no Kentucky in 1740.
