Catherine Johannes DeForest was born on January 17, 1766 in Province of New Jersey, daughter of John DeForest (1743–1825) and Maria Van Nest (1744–1830).
Catherine married John Isaac Brokaw (born on January 20, 1755 in New Brunswick, Middlesex County, New Jersey). Their known children were:
- Daniel Brokaw (~1785–~1860)
- Lawrence D Brokaw (1801–1872)
- Jane Brokaw (1808–1885)
Catherine died on November 19, 1846 in New Jersey, United States, aged 80.
