Elizabeth was born in Jul 1796, the daughter of David Teeter and Elizabeth Stutzman. She married John Ullery on 9 Jan 1817, and they had at least ten children. Seven have been identified by name: Mary, Susannah (died in infancy), David (died in infancy), Elizabeth, Jacob, John, and Barbara. In addition, three unnamed girls under the age of five were reported in the U.S. Census of 1830; none of them correspond to any of the named children. Information about this family in subsequent censuses has not been located.
According to the 1830 Census, a John Ullery family was living in Newton twp., Miami Co., OH, consisting of a man and a woman both in the 30-40 age bracket, and six children. In addition to three girls under five, the census reports a boy 5-10 (Jacob?), a girl 5-10 (Elizabeth?), and a girl 15-20 (Mary?). Other information indicates that Mary was 11 or 12 in 1830, so perhaps the wrong box was marked on the summary sheet. The two remaining children -- John and Barbara -- were born after 1830.
Mary, Jacob and Elizabeth all married, and raised a number of children. Barbara died at 17 years, apparently without marrying or having children. The fates of son John and the three unnamed daughters are unknown.
Elizabeth died in 1865. at age 69, and her will was probated in Miami Co., OH, on 26 Aug 1865 (Elizabeth Ullery Probate Date: 26 Aug 1865 in Miami, Ohio, USA Item Description: Wills, Vol 3-4, 1863-1885).
IMPORTANT NOTE:
This profile is redundant since it refers to the same person as Elizabeth (Deeter) Ullery. A merger of the two profiles is pending.
Elizabeth was born in 1796. She is the daughter of David Teeter and Elizabeth Stutzman. She married John Ullery on 9 Jan1817, and they had five children:
Elizabeth is very likely the same person as Elizabeth (Deeter) Ullery since both lived in Miami Co., OH, at the same time, had husbands named John Ullery (or (Ulrich), and were married on the same date at the same place. The birth year given in the two profiles are inconsistent (1787 vs. 1796), but the first is apparently a guess unsupported by any definite evidence. In any event, the second birth date of Jul 1796 (based on family history) is more compatible with a marriage date of 1817.
Elizabeth and John had at least ten children, identified from several sources. The family appears on the 1830 census as living in Newton twp., Miami Co., OH, consisting of two adults and six children. One daughter (Susannah) died in infancy, and three were apparently born after the 1830 census. The census summary report indicates "free white" males and females, divided into 5- and 10-year intervals. Names, birth dates and ages are supplied in the following table:
The only inconsistency in this table is for Mary. If she was 15-20 in 1830, she would have been born before 1815, and therefore prior to her parents' marriage. So perhaps the incorrect age box has been marked.
