Biography

John Ledyard Denison was born 19 Sep 1826 at Stonington, Connecticut. He was the fifth child of Levina Fish and Isaac Denison ^[1],^[2].

He married twice, both at Stonington:

1) 10 May 1853 Mary Elizabeth Burrows ^[3]; they had at least 4 children:

1. Edwin C Denison (1855-1861)
2. Nellie (Denison) Ottaway (1857-)
3. John B Denison (1857-1864)
4. Marion B. Denison (1860-1948)

2) 5 Mar 1861 Frances M. Breed ^[4]; they had 2 children:

1. Learned B. Denison (1864-)
2. Frances Rebecca (Denison) Hoffman (1868-1946); married Carl Frederick Paul Hoffman

Per the 1860 and 1870 census records he resided at Norwich, New London County, Connecticut ^[5],^[6].
