INTRO

Just a note- be kind. Sometime merges need to be researched further. I have adopted some profiles that should actually be deleted because they are truly orphaned and could have been guesses by the original poster. It can be frustrating if someone doesn't answer you as quickly as you may want. A lot of the members here have a full life that doesn't allow 24/7 on this site.

Biography

I've been researching family history since 1970. This all started with my grandfather Ed Dennis' stories. I have contributed to familysearch.org way before there was an internet as we know it now. I also had membership at Ancestry.com, so a lot of my information (and perhaps a few of my mistakes) are wandering about the internet. Now with DNA available, some mysteries might be solved, some rumors put to rest and some new relatives found.

I see her now. My GG Grandfather was born in Illinois, but I have never been able to find a connection to any families of his father, Samuel.You can see what I have as well. You have so much more information, since my ggg grandfather is my dead end.

I don't what your connection is to the Cortright family (if any) but I have a dead end in my Cortrights in Illinois. I keep seeing you as managers of most the profiles I looked at. I saw you have a GEDmatch genesis kit, so I compared to myself, and we are certainly related, although a ways back.

Largest segment = 6.5 cM

Total Half-Match segments (HIR) = 54.4 cM (1.516 Pct)

69.502 Pct SNPs are full identical

My kit is JU8869036 I did lower the threshold to 4cm, just because of possible distance. One SNP match on ch 2 is over 1000
