Research Notes
There is much confusion about where Elizabeth was born and married. The following data shows how the county lines changed in the area where Elizabeth resided in the state of Kentucky. Data comes from this interactive map of how Kentucky counties were formed over the years. http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~george/countyformations/kentuckyformationmaps.html
Kentucky Co., VA, formed-------1776-1777; Kentucky Co., VA, divided into Fayette, Jefferson, & Lincoln-----1780; Jefferson Co. formed------1780; Kentucky separated from Virginia, admitted as a State------1792; Oldham Co. from Henry, Jefferson, and Shelby-----1823-1824
The name of Elizabeth's father is not certain. Below, the findagrave site shows it is Jacob Derr. However her marriage record states that her father's name is George Tar and her name is Elizabeth Tar. More research needs to be done to discover the truth about her lineage.
