Prof Boucher meld: "the Jean Blignaut who came to the Cape cannot have been the son christened at Chaltrait in 1677. He was evidently born in Amsterdam, where the baptisms of two of his brothers are recorded".
    Vriendelike groete, Juna Malherbe" <ref></ref>
Pierre Blignaut and his wife Elisabeth Desbordes followed their son, Jean to South africa in 1726 and stayed in the Cape till their death. He was a farrier in Monthelon, France. <ref></ref>
