Biography

Johannes was born to Hendrik de Joo and his wife Margriet Wamboom. He was baptized 1726 November 6th with Hendrik Oostrander and Elisabeth Wamboom as witnesses [1]. His siblings are Debora [2], Pieter [3], Ysaak [4], Benjamin [5], Christoffel [6], Hagetta [7], and David [8].

Johannes Dijo was married 1756 November 20th to Sara van Wagenen [9]. Their children are Geertje [10], Solomon [11], Jacob [12], Elias [13], and Maria [14].

Johannes with his wife witnessed the baptism of their granddaugher, Maria Berro. [15]

Johannes was enlisted in the Ulster County Militia, 3rd regiment, New York Volunteers
