Barnabas Dickinson, born in 1783, was the son of Lemuel Dickinson.[1]
"An American by the name of Barnabus Dickinson came north from Massachusetts, and, in Montreal, won the contract for the delivery of mail from Montreal and west. It wasn’t until after the war, of course, that he set up his system of public conveyances to carry both mail and passengers with a series of boats and coaches from Montreal. " From a Dickinson's Landing article.
Barnabus Dickinson was a descendent of the Nathaniel Dickinson family who had been settled in the United States for generations. His family moved to Cornwall, Ontario in 1827. He was married to Lydia Davenport.
