DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Barbli by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Barbli:
The same Taufroldel shows Hans Dierstein being born on 4. Feb 1616 with the parents mentioned in the Geni entry. With the difference that the name is clearly "Dierstein", with a very clear 'D', and a nice example of an old german long 's'. See page 40 (1616), which is page 23 of the PDF file.
I approve this merge except. as you mentioned, which name will be the final name? I'm finding BOTH on most research.
Her father's name was Hans Thierstein but one son's middle name was Dierstein so maybe that name was used by the family ??? I have her as Dierstein on my own tree and your explanation of a German Spelling seems right. I will make my records match whichever you feel is correct.
Thiertstein-1 and Dierstein-3 appear to represent the same person because: Dierstein seems more likely LNAB, as it is at least a German spelling & a recognized German surname, but 1668 birth date seems more likely.
I adopted this profile in hopes of finding more information... but the multiple Barbli to "Zug" linking in this family is unbelievable and all have children with the same names.
This will take a LOT more time to figure out.
I guess if this was an easy task, everyone would be doing it, huh? Back to work... ..
Have a Blessed day and Happy Thanksgiving,
Rebecca

Note Generation No. 3 of this link. It uses Dierstein. https://photos.geni.com/p13/1c/23/07/79/534448391deb222a/igm_original.png

I know it's ON the Geni link but substantiates my own records right now. I'm trying to change the Geni profile.
This will take a LOT more time to figure out.

Or detach her from this family altogether.
Dates are probably wrong on both. There are no sources here. Husband listed as born in 1664, so date is probably around there.
