John R. Dills, son of Henry Dills and Suzanne Stratton, was born on 11 September 1854 in Cartoogechaye, Macon County, North Carolina. He passed away on 22 March 1922 in Whitfield County, Georgia and is buried in Dogwood Valley Cemetery, Catoosa County, Georgia.[1]
John married Mary Elizabeth Lunceford on 20 July 1873 in Macon County, North Carolina. According to the 1900 census, Mary had borne 10 children, six of whom were living in 1900.
