Lydia Dimock was born August 27, 1748, the daughter of Shubael Dimock and Eunice Marsh of Mansfield, Connecticut[1]
In 1760, she emigrated to Hants County, Nova Scotia along with her family[2].
Lydia married Benoni Sweet, son of Benoni and Mary Elizabeth Sweet, who also settled in Hants County[3] Their children were :
Sarah “Sally” (Sweet) Vaughn (b. 1772)
Benoni Sweet (b. 1774)
John Sweet (b. 1776)
Shubael Sweet (b. 1779)
Eunice (Sweet) Mumford (b. 1781)
Albro Sweet (b. 1783)
James Sweet (b. 1787)
Eber Sweet (b. 1790)
Tryphosa (Sweet) Dodge (b. 1792)
Lydia died on 4 February 1805 at Scotch Village, Hants County, Nova Scotia. She and Benoni are probably buried there in the Baptist Cemetery (now the Scotch Village Century Cemetery.)
