Biography

Henry Odessa Dixon was born on 26 Sep 1856 in Southampton, Hampshire, England, son of Henry William Odessa Dixon (1833 - 1888) and Jane Elizabeth Fanstone (Sweetingham) Dixon (1833 - 1910). His occupation was 'boiler maker'.

Henry immigrated to Australia in 1858.[1]

Henry married Ann Jane Munnerly Harris (1857 - 1926) on 6 Sep 1877 in Wesleyan Church, Williamstown, Victoria, Australia.[2] Their children were:

  2. Maud Louisa Jane (Dixon) Cook (1880 - 1943)

Henry died on 20 Nov 1943 in 118 Doveton Street, Ballarat, Victoria. aged 87. His remains were buried in the Williamstown Cemetery on 22 November 1943.[3]

Williamstown, beloved husband of the late Ann Jane, loved father of Maud (Mrs. A. Cook, deceased), Henry (deceased), Ern, Bert, Alf (A.I.F.. deceased), Fred (A.I.F. deceased) and Will, aged 87 years. Resting. Remains at E. W. Jackson's Chapel, North Williamstown. [4]
