George Dixon was born on 25 Jan 1862 in Williamstown, Victoria, Australia, son of Henry William Odessa Dixon (1833 - 1888) and Jane Elizabeth Fanstone (Sweetingham) Dixon (1833 - 1910). His occupation was 'boiler maker's assistant'.^[1]
