Research Notes
There are no primary documents identifying Jesse's first wife although some have identified her first name as Susanna and one source claims that she was Susanna Sukey (b. 1750 in Faquier, VA, d. 1802, Muhlenberg, KY).[6]
Some have attributed the marriage of Jenny Claxton to Jesse Doggett, Jr who was born a bit late to have married in 1803. The marriage to elder Jesse occurs just after the death of his first wife and Jenny's death occurs just before his marriage to his third wife.
